OVERVIEW
The VISION
of the National Trends and Services facet is to eliminate disparities by reducing barriers to services through advocacy, education, and service. Our MISSION
is to empower our chapters to effectively empower the communities in which we work. Our GOALS
include increasing the number of sustainable and measurable programs; increasing collaborative partnerships; and extending our existing initiatives to include communities identified as having the greatest need.
LOCAL PROGRAMS
The Mount Rose Chapter (MD) is creating and supporting programs that serve as a catalyst for change promoting individual and community empowerment. Our programs align with the organizational National program objectives and Model, Mentor and Motivate!
in the communities that we serve.
In 2018, we developed the Mount Rose Juvenile Service Partnership Program in collaboration with the EmpowHER unit in the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) to support the National Signature Programs: Project Lead and Young Achievers. Through this program, our Chapter meets with EmpowHER young women (ages 13-18) once a month to provide a series of workshops, outings and engagements, that will foster a bond with the participants, build their confidence, and change the trajectory of their lives.
